Many audition castings don't give you a heads up on what to gear up for, so you should always have resume and head shot photo handy. Even if you don't have any acting knowledge - you should still have a written resume that gives the film directors a little information about yourself such as height, weight and your training. Also have at least 16 bars of a song prepared in case a casting director asks you to sing during your audition castings. It's even better when you have sheet music as accompanists are available at the audition castings.
It's always good to get out and "mesh" in your city in fields of the arts and music to learn about audition castings. Learn about the who is who of the business and what they do. Gather business cards and socialize with other people who are in your interest group. You never know who you may meet or what may happen.
